Phenomenal sugar artists, such as Michelle Boyd, have shown the Sweets World what amazing things can be done with Isomalt....and at The Ultimate Sugar Show, you'll get a chance to learn more about how to work with this incredible medium while creating an adorable Isomalt balloon animal that will impress your friends, family and potential clients.

In this class, you learn blown sugar & Isomalt shaping techniques, and then you'll apply them to create a fun Isomalt balloon animal. This class will give you a chance to practice your Isomalt skills while creating the cutest project ever!

You’ll learn the basics of blowing, shaping, cooling, and attaching sugar pieces. Some sugar experience is helpful, but not necessary. All skill levels are welcome, and all materials will be provided for use during class.

About Michelle

Learn how to decorate professional looking buttercream cakes with beautifully sharp edges at The Ultimate Sugar Show with Sarah MyersChicago area native Michelle Boyd, owner of Good Gracious Cakes, has ALWAYS loved dessert. In 2005, she realized that she could combine her two passions - art and dessert - and she made the switch from graphic designer & illustrator to full-time sugar artist.

Since then, you may have seen her on several television shows on TLC and Food Network, including Duff Til Dawn, Outrageous Wedding Cakes, and Halloween Wars. Michelle’s award-winning cakes have also been featured in Cake Masters Magazine, Sweet, and Cake Wrecks-Sunday Sweets.

​Michelle was named one of the Top Ten Cake Artists in North America for 2014 by Dessert Professional magazine.

​She teaches classes in various sugar mediums, with an eye toward helping students bring traditional (but not conventional) art techniques to cake, sugar, and chocolate. Michelle also creates elaborate edible showpieces for corporate events and food festivals around the country.
