Traveling with and delivering cakes can be a very stressful part of a baker/sweet maker's life. However, if you plan appropriately and know the right tricks, you can travel safely with your cakes anywhere in the world. Take it from cake designer Monika Stout who safely traveled with her "Royal Pup" cake to and from the UK to compete at Cake International in 2018.
In her words, "if you know how to package your pieces then you can safely travel by car and even plane" with your cakes and sculpted edible art. In fact, thanks to her packaging techniques Monika's "Royal Pup" cake arrived in the UK completely undamaged and ready for the competition.
Want to learn how to travel safely with your cakes? Join Monika in this one hour demo where she will discuss the strategies and techniques that give her the confidence to travel (even overseas) with her cakes.

Monika Stout is the owner of Truly Scrumptious Cakes in Encinitas, California. She spent years as a graphic designer, working at a drafting table with T-square and triangle, assembling the then-complex layers of commercial art. But, with the move to computers, she missed working with her hands to create something beautiful. She took a cake decorating class with the aim of making original cakes for her children. Once she began, however, she realized that this is what she was born to do!
Over the last ten years Monika has been lucky enough to build a successful custom cake shop where she creates one-of-a-kind works of sugar art. She has also been teaching cake decorating classes for the last 6 years.
Monika has been featured in Cake Masters Magazine as well as participated in several collaborations such as Sweet Fairy Tales, Sugar Myths and Fantasies, Birthday Mischief Managed, Woodland Fairies and many more. Monika has competed in cake shows across the country and has won Best in Show for four consecutive years at the San Diego Cake Show. Monika also won the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Episode in Cake Wars Season 4 on Food Network.
